Why colours you ask? Because I love them, and they influence our perceptions every day. Depending on the combination and the shade of a colour, a picture changes. In fact, an environment can change completely.
Have you ever felt the colour? Remember the last time you were in the cinema watching this really amazing movie – the mood of that movie depended a lot on the palette of colours used. Even if the colours where added afterwards.
Why am I talking about movies now? To me, movies represent a magnificent Artform – the combination of storytelling, moving images, sounds and music. I can dive right into another world, when in the cinema.
Some of my works recall cinematographic sceneries – one could call them stills – I think they are much more than that. A still of a movie is a 1/24 of a second.
My paintings can't be measured in time. Any moment in a painting seems timeless.
